Why Bio-Fresh™ ?
Bio-Fresh™ is a post-harvest treatment to extend shelf-life. It forms a thin layer around the fruit to delay the ripening process. The product is all biological and approved by EU and FDA.
Tastier fruit and less waste because of the slower ripening of the fruits consumers will be able to enjoy the fruits longer. Because the fruits remain fresh over a longer period of time the waste will be reduced.

What is Bio-Fresh™ ?
It has always been a challenge to store fresh fruit and vegetables. A very popular way to store softfruits is making jam. The key component for longer storage is sugar. Bio-Fresh™ uses this ancient technique to create a longer shelf-life and better taste experience, not by mixing the fruit with sugar, but adding a very thin film around the fruit with a sucrose ester. Bio-Fresh™ contains E473(Sucrose ester) and E466(CMC)
Is it safe?
Not if you can eat more than 4500 pears a day….
The layer is so thin that a person weighing 65 kilo’s can eat over 4500 pears per day before exceeding the maximum daily intake…
Bio-Fresh™ is approved in the EU countries because it consists of two legally accepted food additives: E473 and E466.
E473 is approved for fruit quantis satis (meaning without limitation), See page 54.
